Open Gym and Game Room Hours
The Gentle Memorial Building (Houlton Parks and Recreation Department) will be open for youth to attend open gym and game room hours starting on Tuesday, October 14th.
When
Monday through Friday: 2:30-5:00pm
Saturdays: 10:00am-2:00pm
*Subject to change depending on availability
Who Can Attend
- Grades 3-12 can attend unsupervised.
- Children 2nd Grade and below must always be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Guardian must be 18 years of age.
- Adult and Youth Supervision will be provided at all open hours.
- Once you leave the building, there is no returning that same day.
What's Available
Gym - Basketball
Game Room - Bumper Pool, Pool, Foosball, Air Hockey, Ping Pong, Board Games, Card Games, Wii/Nintendo Switch Games, and Snack & Drink Machines
*Certain games cost 50 cents to play: pool, ping pong, air hockey, foosball. Please plan accordingly. Youth may purchase a Game Room Season Pass, which allows them to play these games at no extra charge (excluding air hockey and foosball, as they are coin operated). The cost for the pass is $15.
General Rules and Regulations
The following rules and regulations of the Gentle Memorial Building (Houlton Parks and Recreation Department) are put in place to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for all participants. All guests must respect and follow all GMB rules or will be asked to leave the premises.
- Leave coats, boots, bookbags, etc. neatly in the lounge area.
- Do not loiter in entry ways, stairways, hallways, or restrooms. Use the Center as intended - for the use of the basketball court and game room.
- Food, chewing gum, and non-water drinks are only permitted in the lounge of the Gentle Memorial Building. Users are required to dispose of all items properly.
- Swearing will not be allowed on our premises. If offensive language is reported by any staff member or patron, or we hear it, you will be instructed to call your parents.
- Bullying will not be tolerated. IE name calling, teasing, inappropriate comments, taunting, threatening to cause harm, hitting, pinching, spitting, tripping, pushing.
- Staff are here to help keep these rules in place. Please cooperate with them.
